1. What this covers

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on waveie.com and myWaveie. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy, which covers personal information generally.

“Cookies” here means cookies and the technologies that do similar jobs — local storage, session storage and pixels.

2. What we use, and why

Strictly necessary

Needed for the site to work. These cannot be switched off in our systems.

Preferences

Remember choices you have made — billing period, Auto Pay toggle state, language, and whether you have dismissed a banner. Losing these is an inconvenience, not a fault.

Analytics

Tell us which pages are used and where people abandon a flow, so we can fix it. We use this in aggregate. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Marketing

Measure whether an advertisement led to a signup. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal.

3. Third parties whose code runs on our pages

Some features are supplied by other companies. When one of these loads, that company receives your IP address and standard request information, and may set its own cookies under its own policy.

The speed test runs inside an iframe. It is Ookla’s product and Ookla’s privacy terms apply to what happens inside it.

4. Controlling cookies

In your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and offers a private mode. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and checkout.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing, automatically.
Do Not Track. Browsers send this inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for responding to it, so we do not rely on it. GPC is the signal we honour.
Mobile advertising identifiers. iOS and Android both allow you to limit ad tracking at the operating-system level.

We may update this policy as the site changes. The current version is always posted here with its effective date.
